Poetry for Hard Times

This season, I have fallen hard for poetry.

While I love reading novels, it is so nice to read through a few complete poems and have the satisfaction of completing them in one sitting. There's something about emotion being captured into a few lines that makes poetry feel so personal and raw.

These poems particularly reminded me that everything we are feeling has been felt before and that there is reason to have hope that gradually, things will return to normal.

Tulips by Sylvia Plath

The Fury of Rainstorms by Anne Sexton

We Wear The Mask by Paul Laurence Dunbar

Winter Stars by Sara Teasdale

What is your favourite poem?
